- has worked in a difficult environment, where gov't has had limited resources, but this has never dimmed his vision nor has barred his mission to bring mathematics into the limelight of Philippine education
- his direct contribution to international juries has been significant & his broader contributions through his dynamic leadership has enabled the Philippines to earn several recognitions, awards & recommendations from international mathematics competitions
