Festivity is all around, the colors of the season are abounding and a general spirit of happiness is in the air, all bringing one important message of hope. Indeed, these are tough days and the holidays tend to be the hardest for those who have to bear the twinge of natural and man-made disasters. Nonetheless, as resilient people we knit cheeriness from Christmas to New Year around fragmented lives and times; we also yearn for familiar traditions and friendly faces. And, in this season of Advent, one of anticipation, a season that is brief but unusually rich in symbolism, sights, sounds, smells, spirituality and a mood of anticipation.
Though some months have been difficult for us but we are heartened by the hope this season brings, we appreciate the splendor of His birth, the beauty of the message the prophets brought us. As we celebrate the real reason for the season, let us always commit to our memory that Christmas is still one occasion of the year that is its own reason for being as it is a reason for sharing, for caring and giving. As we wish each other an abundance of friends, happiness, and fun this holiday season, let us go more than wishing for those who put on brave faces in the worst of times. Let us be a blessing to them…let us be their answered prayers this Christmas.
May you be filled with every joy and grace, with hope of heart and peace of mind beside you stay.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all!!!
