Due to insistent public demand, the MTG and DOST-SEI have considered to move the preliminary and final rounds of the first ever Search for the Sudoku Master of the Philippines in the 1st Philippine Sudoku Championship which is renamed to Sudoku Super-Challenge to January 20 and February 10, 2007 respectively.The rescheduling is a response to the Sudoku enthusiasts’ request to give them not only more time to register for the contest but also more time to prepare for the challenging event. As usual, the venue for the preliminary round will be held in all MTG Training Centers across the country while the national finals shall be in Manila whose venue shall be announced later. The top three winners in the preliminary round will be awarded medals and will automatically become the national finalists who have the chance to be the first ever Sudoku Master of the Philippines. The grand champion will receive a cash prize of Php. 50,000 while cash prizes of Php. 30,000 and Php. 20,000 await the First Runner-up and Second Runner-up. Likewise, the winners in the Sudoku Super Challenge 2007 will have the chance to represent the Philippines in the forthcoming 2nd World SUDOKU Championship which will take place on March 28 to April 1, 2007 in Prague, Czech Republic and the 1st Asian-Pacific Sudoku Championship will be held in Singapore in June 2007. Travel expenses to be incurred shall be taken care of by the participant for the international competition. This 1st Philippine Sudoku Championship is open to all Sudoku aficionados regardless of age and profession. For the preliminary round, a registration fee of P 300 shall be charged from interested participants. Registration fee must be deposited to the account of Mathematics Trainers’ Guild in Equitable-PCI Bank with Current Account Number 0137-76756-2. Once the deposit is made, please submit the deposit slip to the MTG Center Coordinator and send the following data through text to 09178105009: your name, address, age, date and time of deposit, branch where the deposit was made.
