The 2008 Australian Mathematics Competition (AMC) conducted on July31, 2008 yielded 10 Prize Awards and 38 High Distinction Certificates for the Filipino math wizards who participated in the aforementioned international correspondence math competition, which tested everything from their basic numeracy skills through advanced problem solving.
The winners of this contest will be awarded by no less than Dr. Peter Taylor, Executive Director of the Australian Mathematics Trust (AMT), in October at an appropriate venue which will be announced later.
From the thousands of young “mathletes” around the world who participated in the 2008 AMC, 10 Pinoy students stood comfortably with the few fellows from other countries as they grabbed the Prize Awards. The successful Filipino math warriors are:

The 2008 AMC results are another consistent manifestation of the MTG’s purposeful commitment to provide the Filipino youths with mathematical competence in its constant attempt to defy the limits of mathematics. Dr. Simon Chua, MTG President, enthusiastically extends his profound congratulations to the 2008 AMC winners by saying, “these kids are testimonies of the country’s success in the field of mathematics and rich profile of the MTG’s achievement”.
Moreover, the results of the competition and the certificates for the other awards will be send to your respective schools. In few days time, both the results and certificates will be in your hands. Congratulations!
