Cheers to the years!!! The Mathematics Trainers' Guild (MTG), Philippines will be celebrating its 15th Anniversary in October. In its commitment to promote and uplift mathematics education in the country, MTG in coordination with the Department of Education will conduct the 2010 International Mathematics Educators Convention with the theme, “Making Sense: Teaching and Learning Math by Understanding” on October 21 to 24, 2010 at the Royale Tagaytay Club, E. Aguinaldo Highway, Buck Estate, Alfonso, Cavite.
No less than the Secretary of Education, Bro. Armin A. Luistro issued a DepEd Memorandum 356, series 2010 to bureau directors, regional directors, school division/city superintendents and heads of schools inviting the coordinators/department heads, math supervisors and mathematics teachers of the elementary and secondary public and private schools of the Philippines to the aforesaid convention.

As the title of the convention suggests, several math teachers and educators from China, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Hong Kong and Singapore have pledged to attend it knowing that internationally renowned mathematicians will have sessions and lectures with the participants. Other than the local math experts, the MTG, Philippines has invited internationally known math educators for their mathematical expertise coupled with their extensive knowledge of the subject of which will surely contribute to the growth and development of the mathematics teachers in their effort to transform learning into a meaningful and fun-filled math class.
