The Filipino math aces once more took the center stage for winning 18 medals and trophies in the 2014 Wizard at Mathematics International Competition (WIZMIC) held at City Montessori School, Lucknow, India on October 18 to 21 2014.
Our bets rose to the occasion for snatching victory, earning for our country 2 gold, 10 silver and 2 bronze medals in the individual contest and 4 trophies in the team contest.
This year’s gold medalists were Aiman Andrei Kue of Zamboanga Chong Hua High School and Jose Lorenzo Abad of Colegio San Agustin – Makati.
Grabbing silver medals in the individual contest were Andrei Lenard Chan and Stephen James Ty of Zamboanga Chong Hua High School, Jhervey Edric R. Cheng of Chiang Kai Shek College, Kristin Angela T. Narag of Colegio San Agustin – Binan, Audrey Gabrielle P. Tan of St. Peter The Apostle School, Wesley Gavin G. Palomar of Falcon School, Jodi Marcia D. Arcadio of Notre Dame of Greater Manila, Hiraya S. Marcos of Philippine Cultural College - Main, Gregory Charles Tiong of St. Jude Catholic School, Cassey Jules U. Uygongco of Hua Siong College of Iloilo,
The bronze medalists were Jose Oliver F. Narvasa of Notre Dame of Greater Manila and Jannica Allison Lim of Zamboanga Chong Hua High School.
The Philippine team also won three first runners up and one second runner up in the team contest.
The 2014 WIZMIC drew a total of 222 participants from India, Indonesia, Iran, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Nepal, Nigeria, Philippines, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Vietnam.
