32 SCHOOLS ADVANCE TO THE MATH TRAIL FINALS
Thirty two teams, each with 4 members, ended up as qualifiers for the final round after defeating 35 other teams in the elimination round of the 2014 MTG-SHARP-SM Supermalls Math Trail and Problem Solving Competitionheld on September 27, 2014.
Drawing a total of 67 teams or schools in Metro Manila and nearby provinces, the math contest, clustered in two, was held simultaneously in two venues, SM Southmall in Las Piñas and SM San Lazaro in Manila.
All teams working closely together during the entire contest, visited one station at a time, measuring lines, objects and shapes, gathering data and details and analyzing problems and numbers, all were necessary for solving problems which came in ascending difficulty.
The scores of all teams were added and ranked, eventually ending thrill and suspense when judges declared cut-off scores, trimming down the teams to only 32 teams to move forward to the final round scheduled on Saturday, November 15, 2014 at SM North in Quezon City. The following are the qualified teams/schools for the final round.
