As many as 1500 math wizards from all over the Philippines will participate in the regional qualifying stage in the first ever National Mathematics Olympiad for Senior High School Students (NMOSHS) at select MTG centers on Saturday, November 10, 2018.
The NMOSHS supported by the Department of Education through the issuance of the DepEd Memorandum No. 157 s. 2018 dated October 1, 2018 is open to all grades 11 or 12 senior high school students.
There will be two categories a school can send students to participate in, Category A: STEM Strand; and Category B: ABM/HUMMS/GAS Strands. Registration is FREE.
The NMOSHS provides opportunity for students in the senior high school to be confident, successful and active participants in their world where the mathematical knowledge, skills and understanding make them think creatively, analyze and communicate information and ideas effectively. This competition will help improve student’s numeracy skills through a range of challenging and engaging learning experiences that extends their prior knowledge.
This math contest is made possible in coordination with the major sponsors, SM Supermalls and SHARP Calculators.
The participants are requested to proceed to the following contest venues at the specified time in their respective area for the regional qualifying stage of the National Mathematics Olympiad for Senior High School Students:
