The result of the TOUGH first round of the Asian Mathematics Olympiad (AMO) is finally out revealing that only eight (8) Filipino math wizards gain admission to the final round which is set on Sunday, July 21, 2019.
The AMO organizer disclosed that only one participant from the Bee Category, three from the Junior Category and four from the Senior category achieved a mark above the cut-off score.
The finalists are Zion Skye Earl Carmelo C. Uy from Ateneo De Manila Grade School, Jerome Austin Te from Jubilee Christian Academy, Franchesca Canary Leoncio from St. Mary’s College of Meycauayan, Neo Angelo Gatlabayan from British School Manila, Reysheilanne Doromal from Hua Siong College of Iloilo, Mohammad Nur Casib from My Precious Child Learning Center, Gadriel Symone Dalangin and Michael Gerard Tongson from Stonyhurst Southville International School –Malarayat.
All successful participants in the final round may be invited to the awarding ceremony if they got good results in the special and final round which will be held in Tokyo, Japan on Sunday August 25, 2019.
The AMO is organized by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science & Technology of Japan but hosted in Singapore for the second year.
