The Australian Mathematics Trust (AMT) through the Mathematics Trainers’ Guild, Philippines invites you to participate in the 2008 Australian Mathematics Competition (AMC) scheduled on July 31, 2008.

The AMC containing 25 multiple-choice problems and 5 questions is for the Primary and Secondary Divisions. Unlike formal mathematics testing, the AMC problems are set in situations to which students can relate, showing the relevance of mathematics to their everyday lives. The AMC is designed to be of sufficient interest to stimulate further the mathematical prowess of every participant. It is also designed to be a fun event, removed from the pressures of formal assessment.

While each division is attempted by students from two different year levels, the students are assessed only against other students in the same school year and region. As each school year is assessed as a separate group for that region, age or curriculum differences between students are irrelevant.

The registration fee for each participant is US$9.00 only. The deadline for registration is on April 3, 2008. The registration fee for late registration is based on the following specific dates.

Do not assume that once the deposit has been made, your entry will be automatically registered in our data bank. We will only process and include your name as an official participant to the 2008 AMC only when we receive the deposit slip with the complete data of the registration form faxed to us. No walk-in participants are allowed to take the 2008 AMC contest. No refund of the Registration Fee is possible.
