The Mathematics Trainers? Guild, Philippines has expanded its scope of concentration from the mathematics competitions to science competitions through the International Competitions and Assessments for Schools (ICAS) which is annually conducted by University of New South Wales Educational Assessment Australia (EAA). Such endeavor has been warmly welcomed by MTG kids as manifested by their participation for years now.
This time, the MTG and ICAS Philippines will spearhead the assessment of skills in English through a competition which is open to elementary pupils and high school students. In ICAS-English, reading and language skills are assessed in a ranged of texts. Students are required to locate, identify, interpret, infer and synthesize information in and about texts, focusing on the aspects of reading for meaning in literary texts, reading for meaning in factual texts, textual devices, syntax and vocabulary.
A registration fee of US$ 9.00 will be charged to interested pupils/students who are willing to participate in the contest. The payment should be settled through the following dollar account:
