AYALA FOUNDATION AND MTG INK AGREEMENT

Sep 11, 2009

The Mathematics Trainers Guild (MTG), Philippines and Ayala Foundation, Inc. (AFI) signed a Memorandum of Agreement last Tuesday, September 8, 2009 at the AFI office, BPI Building in Makati City. The MOA is for cooperation for the upcoming  2009 Asia Inter-Cities Teenagers Mathematics Olympiad (AITMO) and 2009 Philippine Elementary Mathematics International Contest (PEMIC) 2009  dubbed as the 2009 Philippine International Mathematics Competition (PIMC)  which will be held from November 28, 2009 to December 2, 2009 in Iloilo City, Philippines.

The MOA signing came after when both parties saw that programs are consistent and in line with their respective vision in nurturing the Filipino’s mind and spirit through their educational projects. This partnership has no other interest but the benefits and welfare of our Filipino youths especially those who will be participating in the forthcoming PIMC 2009 where a total of 1000 participants from 30 countries are expected to join.

Present during the MOA signing were AFI officials spearheaded by the Executive Vice President- Mr. Guillermo M. Luz, and directors Mr. Mario Deriquito, Mr. Ramon Miranda and Ms. Wilma Zapata.  On the part of the  MTG, the key officials in attendance were the Executive Vice President- Mrs. Rechilda P. Villame, Vice President for Training and Development- Dr. Eduardo O. Dela Cruz, Jr and Finance Committee Officer- Mrs. Marilyn Mayoralgo.

Since the estimated funding requirement to host the two international contests is Php 15 Million, then the organizers are seeking the assistance of generous individuals/ companies/ establishments /agencies. Those munificent persons and public and private entities that want to support the PIMC 2009 organizers in their fundraising activities may now direct their donations to Ayala Foundation, Inc. - the sole foundation authorized to receive donations for the said contest.

Thus, sponsors, patrons, benefactors, donors and contributors may now acquire official receipts and certificates of donations for purposes of enabling them to enjoy tax exempt privileges for their donations.

And so, with this partnership and with the support from the benevolent individuals and entities, the PIMC 2009 will surely be another big event that will make the Philippines and every math-gifted Filipinos to shine brighter, feel prouder and stand taller than their equally best foreign counterparts.
