The Filipino math wizards motivated to achieve high scores had extended their winning margin as four of them gave the Philippines the finest victory for scoring 100% in the 2013 American Mathematics Competition (AMC) 8.
The math aces bound and determined to make a history in AMC 8 were worth their weight in gold for achieving perfect scores, they were John Aries Ceazar Hingan of San Beda College- Alabang, Vince Jan Torres of Sta. Rosa Science and Technology High School, Isabel Jocyn Villanueva of PAREF Woodrose School and Sedrick Scott Keh of Xavier School.
A dozen of Filipino math crunchers who were just a point off the perfect score claimed silver medals, they were Jinger Chong of St. Jude Catholic School,Miguel Lorenzo Ildesa of PAREF Westbridge School, Raphael Villaluz of San Beda College-Alabang, Trisha Huang and Terence Brian Tsai of Chiang Kai Shek College, Albert John Patupat of Holy Rosary College, Elijamin Wolfgang Claveria and Agnes Robang of Philippine Science High School-Main, Tifanny Mae Ong of Immaculate Conception Academy, Emmanuel Paolo Santos of Colegio San Agustin- Biñan, Adam Christopher Chan andShaquille Wyan Que of Grace Christian College.
The other members of the Philippine team who went to clinch bronze medals were Matthew Eric Tan and Gabriel Joseph Pua of St. Stephen’s High School,Eason Wong of Philippine Cultural College-Caloocan, Luis Salvador Diy,Andrew Lee and Mark Uy of Xavier School, Farrell Eldrian Wu of MGC New Life Christian Academy, John Ian Lenix Hingan of San Beda College- Alabang and David Alexander R. Amante of Canossa Academy of Lipa.
