Young Filipina math wizards brought home medals from the world's most difficult math contest for girls, the China Girls' Math Olympiad held in Beijing last August 10 to 14, 2016.
Bringing honor to their country were: Silver Medallist Tiffany Mae Ong (Grade 11) of British School Manila and Bronze Medallists: Angelika Joie Tagupa (G10) Philippine Science H.S. - Main Campus, Natalia Beatrice Dy (G10) of St John's Institute, Bacolod City, and Jinger Chong (G10) of St Jude Catholic School.
The Philippines sent just four girls to this competition along with Team Leader Hazel Shi (MTG Elite Kid) and Deputy Team Leader Siok Bee Azajar (Center Coordinator of Naga Center and Principal of Naga Hope Christian School).
Participating countries were the USA, Russia, Indonesia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Macao, Malaysia, Taiwan, the Philippines and China.
The China Girls' Math Olympiad’s format is patterned after the International Mathematics Olympiad.
