Sean Anderson Ty of Zamboanga Chong Hua High School has raised the bar of excellence after obtaining a perfect score in the Fermat Contest run by the Center for Education in Mathematics and Computing of the University of Waterloo, Canada.
For the second year in a row, Ty unleashed an impeccable performance in the Fermat Contest. Last year, he also notched up a proud record for winning a gold medal in the China West Mathematics Invitational. His flair for mathematics impressed the Harvard College which he has decided to study and take up Applied Mathematics.
The winning streak goes on with the spellbinding feat of Harvey Allen Ylanan from Regional Science High School 6 (Kalibo, Aklan) who won a medal in the Cayley Contest for scoring the highest among the 300 plus participants from the Philippines.
Four more math wizards rose to the limelight for their top-scoring performance in the 2019 Pascal Contest. To receive a Pascal medal are Jerome Austin Te from Jubilee Christian Academy, Kristen Teh from Grace Christian College, Rickson Tan from MGC New Life Christian High School, and Raphael Dylan Dalida from Philippine Science High School – Main.
This year’s medalists in Fermat, Cayley and Pascal Contests will be awarded on June 6, 2019. The venue will be announced in this website.
