The second round of the International Mathematics Assessments for Schools (IMAS) had put the 56 upper primary and 14 junior secondary math whiz kids through their paces when 3 won gold medals for being in the top 5 percentile rank in the Philippines.
The only recipient of gold medal in the junior secondary level is Nathaniel Balete of St. Stephen's High School. As for the upper primary, the gold medalists are Clyde Wesley Ang of Chiang Kai Shek College and Sedrick Keh of Xavier School.

The 2nd round IMAS composed of 15 problems of which the first five were in multiple choice type where each correct answer was given 4 points, problems 6 to 13 called for short answers where each correct answer had 5 points, while problems 14 and 15 needed detailed solution and a full mark of 20 points had been given for every correct answer.
The IMAS Executive Council will send invitation to the best upper primary and junior secondary participant of each country to attend the Summer Camp at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Therefore, always log on to this website for more information.
