MESSAGE

On behalf of the Department of Science and Technology, I wish to express my warmest congratulations and best wishes to Mathematics Trainers’ Guild (MTG) Philippines on the occasion of its 25^th Founding Anniversary.

Bannered by its theme “MTG@25: Shaping Mathematics Education; Enduring Youth’s Self-Actualization,” let me take this opportunity to commend MTG for playing a significant role in highlighting the importance of mathematics education in shaping the minds of our youth to later become frontliners in the scientific and technical fields in the country. We at the S&T community applaud your sterling efforts in mentoring our young, promising minds toward impressive showings in international math and science competitions over the last 25 years.

Most importantly, I salute MTG’s initiatives and unwavering commitment to institutionalize excellence in mathematics and science education and training in the Philippines to meet rising global academic standards. Your investments shall later provide the basis for scientific and technological manpower needed for the country’s modernization and industrialization drive, since it is clear that contemporary society is thoroughly rooted in, and dependent on, mathematics and science.
